Demetria us a Dakota and Ghanaian artist from Prairie Island Indian Community in Minnesota and an entrepreneur. She resides in Los Angeles on Tongva land.

Currently working on styling and ways to intergrate beadwork, and Native designs into everyday fashion.

Demetria started her fine arts journey at Oris College of Art and Design and finished her AA Fashion Design degree at FIDM. Demetria has spent her time practicing the art of bead looming, beading, drawing, fashion design, and styling. She co-owns Sotascowi Designs with her sister, where they collaborate on colors and designs for jewelry.

She was inspired by nature in her own backyard as well as her neighborhood. From cacti, fountain grass, to wood and flowers. She picked colors that she would often find naturally as well as complementary colors. Demetria also wanted to showcase a part of home to the viewer by making a beaded sweet grass.
